At approximately 0953 hours Weldon Fire Company was dispatched to a fire alarm on Tague Avenue. While en route to the fire station, Montgomery County Communications notified Weldon’s officers that there was a vehicle rescue at Easton Road and Keswick Avenue. Weldon advised the County to dispatch an engine from Roslyn to the fire alarm and that Weldon would respond to the vehicle rescue. Once on scene at the vehicle rescue, firefighters found multiple vehicles involved with on elderly female driver trapped. Weldon crews stretched a line, secured the battery on the vehicle, and using a hydraulic spreader, hydraulic cutter, and hydraulic combi tool, the crew removed one side of the vehicle to extricate the driver. Weldon was in service for approximately 45 minutes. The cause of the fire alarm was determined to be an oxygen machine alarm.
